Canadian cable operator Cogeco Connexion has tapped MediaKind, the new brand forged out of Ericsson’s media solutions business, to deliver advanced TV services for its subscribers.
Cogeco Conexion, which is the second largest operator in Ontario and Quebec provinces, will use MediaKind’s technology, including the MediaFirst TV platform with Android Google mobile services, rncoding on-demand, video storage and processing platform, content management system and professional services to power services including catch-up TV, personalised recommendations and an enhanced user interface.
The contract, the first for MediaKinds MediaFirst platform in the North American cable market, will see the service launch by mid-2019.
