Pay TV operator Sky Deutschland has named Jacques Raynaud as EVP of sports and advertising, combining its sports and advertising businesses for the first time.
Roman Steuer, EVP of sports, and Sky Media co-CEOs Martin Michel and Thomas Deissenberger will all report to Raynaud, who has served with Sky Italia for eight years as EVP of sports and advertising sales.
At Sky Irtalia, Raynaud was responsible for the launch of Sky’s Italian arm’s first Formula 1 channel and major events such as the London Olympic Games, as well as the World Cup and European football championships in Brazil and France.
Priort to joining Sky, he spent 14 years at Eurosport, ending as vice-chairman, where he oversaw the sports broadcaster’s German,. UK and Asian businesses.
“My new job at Sky Deutschland is a very exciting task. The German market is very well known to me. It offers us excellent opportunities for more growth. I’m looking forward to the new challenges with the great sports editorial teams and Sky Media,” said Raynaud.
