Swedish pay and TV broadcaster Bonnier Broadcasting has secured a deal with Modern Times Group’ that will see its C More sports channels appear on the MTG Viasat pay TV platform for the first time.
C More’s sports channels will appear on the platform from the first quarter of next year.
The deal also secures transmission of Bonnier’s TV4 channels on Viasat. TV4, Sjuan, TV12 HD, TV4 Facts, TV4 Film, TV4 Sport and TV4 Gold will appear on the platform alongside C More Sport HD, C More Hockey HD, C More Football HD, C More Golf HD, C More Live, and C More Live 2 , 3 and 4.
Bonnier is also providing a new channel, Sportkanalen, offering a combination of live matches, sports news, interviews, documentaries, summaries and highlights from the Swedish Hockey League and the Allsvenskan Swedish football league on Viasat’s satellite and fibre-delivered TV platform.
Bonnier Broadcasting CEO Casten Almqvist hailed a “groundbreaking agreement” that allowed the group to distribute the C More sports channels on Viasat for the first time, including Sportkanalen, which he said would be given “a flying start” by the deal.
Anders Jensen, EVP and CEO of MTG Nordic Entertainment, said the agreement would bring “more high-quality content and more channels than ever before” to Viasat subscribers.
