CI launches in Greece on Cosmote TV

A+E Networks UK is launching crime channel Crime +Investigation (CI) in Greece after striking a deal with OTE-owned pay TV service Cosmote TV.

The channel, which launches this week, will be available in all Cosmote TV packages as well as the Cosmote TV Go TV everywhere services and Cosmote Replay TV, the operator’s catch-up offering.

The deal with Cosmote TV means that CI will reach up to 510,000 households across the country.

The addition of the channel to the pay TV operator’s packages will bring new and forthcoming shows including The First 48, Escaping Polygamy, The Murder of Laci Peterson and Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath to Cosmote TV viewers’ screens.

The service will initially be partially subtitled in Greek.

Separately, Cosmote TV has added water sports service Nautical Channel HD to its offering. The channel is also available via all Cosmote TV packs as well as through the Cosmote TV Go TV everywhere app and the Cosmote Replay TV catch-up service.

The channel covers the world of sailing, surfing, kayaking and other watersports, including America’s Cup World Series, World Surf League Tour, IKA Kiteboarding World Championships and other competitions.

As with CI, Nautical Channel HD will be partially subtitled at first, and comprehensively localized gradually.

Cosmote TV also last week added Viasat World channels Viasat Explore and Viasat Nature to its programming line-up.

Last month BBC Worldwide launched its flagship BBC Earth channel in the Greek market on Cosmote TV.
