Canal+’s OTT TV service myCanal has teamed up with Apple to offer 4K UHD TV content on the new Apple TV 4K box.
My Canal subscribers with a n Apple 4K UHD box will be able to view the best Ligue 1 football match of the day in 4K UHD, along with original Canal+ series and selected movies, series and documentaries in 4K UHD.
Content on the service in the format will include the latest seasons of originals Le Bureau des Légends and Kaboul Kitchen, with others including Versailles, The Young Pope, Jour Polaire and Les Guerriers de l’Ombre to be added on an ongoing basis.
In order to view the content, subscriber will need the Apple box, a 4K TV and an internet connection of 20Mbps or above.
Canal+ said that 4K UHD content on the myCanal service would be made available on other Apple devices including iPads, MacBooks and iMacs soon.
The pay TV operator has teamed up with French technology outfits Ateme and Anevia to tap into their expertise in securing and distributing 4K UHD content both live and on-demand.
