Mondo, a producer and distributor of animations aimed at adults, has struck a deal with LeEco and will add several of its shows to the Le Eco cloud-based streaming service in the US.
Mondo’s Happy Tree Friends and Deep Space will be added to LeEco smart TVs and mobile devices as they launch in the US.
The Chinese firm has already launched a successful streaming service in its domestic Chinese market , and is now rolling out in the US, India and other international markets.
It has been linked with some kind of partnership with Netflix, although that has yet to happen.
“LeEco is a fantastic way for us to continue our strategy of expanding our brand and bringing our content to animation fans across multiple platforms,” said Mondo CEO John Evershed. “Fans of our animated series like Happy Tree Friends and Deep Space will find a full library of episodes on LeEco totaling hours of content.”
Mondo, not to be confused with Europe-based producer and distributor Mondo TV, is best-known as a YouTube animation channel operator. It recently completed a merger with Six Point Harness and is moving more heavily into TV.
In China, LeEco provides an ecosystem ofstreaming content, platforms, and smart devices. It offers devices including smartphones, TVs, bikes and cars and its content spans sports, film and live entertainment.
