Vivendi is launching WatchMusic, a subscription on-demand music video service in Brazil, with further international launches to follow.
The new service is being launched by Watchever, the brand Vivendi used for its soon-to-close German SVOD service.
It will allow subs to watch music videos, live performances, music doc and other music themed programming via an iOS and Android app.
Concerts and festivals in Brazil will be livestreamed to WatchMusic. There is also an audio-only option to reduce data usage, and a download option to enable offline viewing.
Vivendi has partnered with Telefonica’s Vivo to roll out the service in Brazil and said other LatAm and international launches will follow.
There is a 30-day free trial before the regular R$12.90 (€3.60) monthly fee kicks in. A weekly option, priced at R$3.99, will also be available.
Having decided to close its German TV streaming operation, Vivendi is placing a big bet on premium mobile content under theStudio+ banner. The video-based service will launch soon, with the first originals recently announced.
