Sky Germany’s UHD TV set-top Sky+ Pro, is now commercially available, and the broadcaster will air its first UHD TV football game on October 14.
Sky plans to air the forthcoming Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and Hertha BSC in the UHD format. This will be followed by the Champions League match between Bayer Leverkusen and Tottenham Hotspur on October 18. Both matches will be sown on Sky Sport Bundesliga UHD andSky Sports UHD.
Sky said it would also air a selection of UHD movies on its Sky On Demand offering, including Hotel Transylvania 2, The Walk, Salt and Evil Dead.
Sky subscribers must make a one-off payment of €99 for the UHD b ox for the duration of their subscriptions. The service is available for 12 months free to Sky Customers with HD subscriptions.
