BBC iPlayer Radio app launches in the US

The BBC’s iPlayer Radio app is now live in the US, following its international debut in the Republic of Ireland earlier this month.

The free app is available stateside on iOS and Android, allowing users to listen to and catch up on BBC radio programmes, download podcasts and live-stream BBC radio stations.

The BBC said earlier this month that The BBC iPlayer Radio app’s Irish launch marked the first stage of a planned global rollout for the service and will “transform access to BBC Radio programmes internationally”.

The app has been available in the UK since 2012.
