Al Jazeera Balkans is joining the Team:Sat TV platform operated by Team:Media and will broadcast exclusively in HD, free-to-air, from the Eutelsat 16A satellite.
The news was announced at the NEM event in Dubrovnik and the channel is due to launch in HD on the television platform on July 1.
Al Jazeera Balkans, which first launched in 2010, said the move will “deepen its reach into TV homes in the Balkans and offer viewers the benefits of superior HD quality”.
Al Jazeera Balkans broadcasts news and information in Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian from its studios in Sarajevo. Team:Media broadcasts regional and international channels via two transponders on Eutelsat 16A satellite, which reaches more than 12 million DTH, cable and IP homes.
