Sky launches online TV on PlayStation 4 in Germany

sky_15-11_gebaeude_584x362Sky in Germany has launched its online TV service on Sony’s PlayStation 4 game console, with a promise that a launch on the PlayStation 3 will follow soon.

Sky is proposing an Entertainment monthly pass that gives viewers access to shows including House of Cards season 4, Game of Thrones season 6 and Gomorrah season 2.

A separate Cinema pass provides access to recent blockbusters up to 12 months ahead of their showing on free TV and without commercial breaks, while a one day Supersport pass gives access to key sports events including coverage of Wimbledon tennis, the US Open golf tournament and the PGA and European tours.

The Sky online app can be downloaded direct from the PlayStations Store , while subscribers can sign up to the service itself via the skyonline.de website.

Members of the PlayStation Network can register for a free month trial of the entertainment pass until July 31.

In addition to new series, this gives access to box sets of shows including Californication seasons 1-7, X Files Season 1-9, Dexter Seasons 1-7 and Girls Seasons 1-4.

Sports fans also have the option to sign up for a weekly or monthly pass without taking the Entertainment or Cinema passes.

The normal price for the Entertainment monthly pass is €9.99, while the Cinema pass is priced at €14.99.
