BBC World News has renewed and expanded its deal for use of multiple Intelsat satellites and the IntelsatOne terrestrial network to distribute standard and HD content across America and Asia.
BBC World News will use capacity on Galaxy 13 at 127˚ West to target North America, while it will use Intelsat 19 at 166˚ East to target the Pacific rim and South Pacific region.
The channel will use Intelsat 20 at 68.5˚ East to deliver content to East Asia, while Intelsat 21 at 302˚ East will be used for Latin America.
The IntelsatOne terrestrial network will be used to provide uplink services. IntelsatOne will also provide dual and geographically diverse fiber routing from the BBC World News playout facilities.
