Norway’s Canal Digital Cable TV has chosen Teleste to provide equipment for its network upgrade programme, involving the upgrade of its HFC network to 1.2GHz.
Teleste will provide Telenor-owned Canal Digital with 1.2GHz optical transmission systems as well as coaxial amplifiers which enable maximum benefit of the new DOCSIS 3.1 standard for broadband connectivity over HFC infrastructure.
The cable network upgrade investment is the first DOCSIS 3.1 upgrade project in Nordic countries. Teleste was selected after a tendering process. The total value of the agreement is estimated to exceed €15 million for the years 2015-2019.
