Twitter’s live video streaming app, Periscope, has now passed the 10 million account mark, with users now watching the equivalent of 40 years of video per day.
According to official Periscope figures, published yesterday, the service surpassed 10 million accounts on August 2, just over four months after its March 26 launch.
Periscope said the 40 years of video viewed figure relates to the aggregate amount of time that people spend watching live broadcasts on its iOS and Android apps.
“At the moment, we don’t include time watched from Periscope.tv in our overall ‘Time Watched’ metric — but we’re working on being able to track this precisely enough to share,” said the company.
“We would like to thank every single one of you for taking the time to use something that we’ve worked so hard to create. It means everything to us.”
