Sky in Germany launches WhatsApp sports news service

Sky in Germany has launched a new sports news service via the WhatsApp messaging service.

Both Sky subscribers and non-subscribers with WhatsApp on their phones can sign up for the service via the Sky website to receive news alerts via the messaging service.

Sky said that 20,000 users had signed up for the service, despite only marketing it via social media. Users can receive short messages from the Sky Sport News HD team.
