Orange secures Champions League with BeIN Sports deal

Catalan media outfit Mediapro is to distribute BeIN Sports, its new joint venture sports channel which will carry coverage of Champions League and Europa League football, to Orange’s TV customers.

Mediapro’s deal with Orange follows an agreement with Vodafone to make the channel available to its TV customers.

IN addition to the European football league competitions, BeIN Sports Spain will offer coverage of English Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Eredevisie and other international league competitions.

Both Vodafone and Orange have also signed deals with Telefónica to secure redistribution rights for Spanish La Liga matches, the rights to which are held by the telecom giant.
