French public broadcaster France Télévisions is extending its 4K trial beyond its coverage of the Roland Garros French open tennis championship until June 21.

The broadcaster will air a number of documentaries on France 5, the channel it dedicated on a temparoary basis to 4K, and a film about the technologies of the future, coproduced by Atmosphère Production.

France Télévisions has aired a number of matches from the tennis championship in 4K, including the semi-finals and finals. The special channel carrying the broadcaster’s 4K content is available via DTT in the Paris region, and via the Fransat bouquest on Euteslsat’s satellite at 5° West.

Pay TV broadcaster Canal+ aired coverage of the football match between Juventus and Barcelona on Saturday in ultra HD in partnership with satellite operator SES.
