SVoD service Pickbox.tv launches on Samsung smart TVs

Subscription video-on-demand provider Pickbox.tv, which is active in the former Yugoslav countries, hjas launched an application for smart TVs and will be available on Samsung’s 2013 and 2014 models as well as the latest generation of Samsung TVs.

Pickbox.tv launched in May in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro. The service is available via iOS and Android devices as well as via the web, and offers over 3,000 hours of content subtitled in four languages. Picbox has content deals from ABC Studios, BBC, CBS, Disney, ITV, MGM and Sony.

In December, the service struck a deal with Croatia’s leading service provider, Deutsche Telekom-owned T-Hrvatski Telekom, for inclusion as part of its MAXtv service.
