iPlayer breaks radio streaming record

iPlayer March 14The BBC recorded 80 million requests for users listening back to radio programmes on the iPlayer in October, an all-time record for the online catch-up service.

Including TV programme requests, users clicked to access 318 million programmes in the month – the iPlayer’s second highest monthly request figure following the 320 million requests logged in March 2014.

The Apprentice, The Great British Bake Off and Doctor Who were among the most popular TV shows on iPlayer in the month.

The proportion of requests across four screens remained relatively stable with computers accounting for 30% of requests, tablets 23% mobiles 19% and TV platforms 19%, according to the BBC.
