AOL has signed 14 new content partners to its premium AOL On platform.
Sky News, British Pathe and former Channel 5 owner Northern & Shell are among the content companies that will maketheir video content available through AOL.
Sky will make its news content available to consumers in North America via the platform and will also distribute other AOL On content through the Sky News website.
Northern & Shell will launch video content from its newspaper titles and its Seriously Football content.
Other new content partners include MCN, Barcroft Media, Readers Digest and online extreme sports channel Epic TV.
AOL On is the web company’s premium service, which carries its original shows and third-party content. The originals line-up includes Steve Buscemi series Park Bench, James Franco series Making a scene as well as a raft of reality shows.
AOL says it has one million videos on the platform following the deal. Internal AOL data for August claims its online video content generated 1.2 billion views.
