UK service provider TalkTalk added 185,000 TV customers in the three months ending June 30, taking the total number of subscribers for its YouView-powered offering to 1.1 million.

Announcing its fiscal first quarter results for full year 2015, TalkTalk said that a quarter of its new TV customers were also new to TalkTalk and that it continues to grow and develop its content offering.

Separately, TalkTalk announced today that it has signed a multi-year wholesale agreement with Sky to distribute Sky Sports and Sky Movies on its YouView service.

“Our strategy for growth continues to deliver according to plan, and we are delighted to report another quarter of base growth and year-on-year revenue progress, including continuing strong momentum in new products such as TV, and data services in TalkTalk Business,” said TalkTalk CEO Dido Harding.

“Importantly, we have also continued to reduce churn on our on-net base, with a third consecutive quarter of improvement, as we continued to improve our customers’ experience and drive increased loyalty through new products.“

She added that the firm is on track to deliver full year 2015 revenue and margin guidance and medium-term financial targets.

Overall, TalkTalk reported revenue growth of 3.1% year-on-year to £434m (€549 million) – its sixth consecutive quarter of year-on-year growth and said it expects to add a similar number of TV customers in full year 2015 as it did in 2014.
