Sundance Channel HD launches in MENA

Sundance ChannelThe Sundance Channel is set to launch in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) thanks to a deal between AMC/Sundance Channel Global and regional pay TV operator OSN.

The network will be available exclusively on OSN from January 15 and will be available to subscribers of the operator’s Platinum HD and Premier HD packages. Sundance content will also be available via OSN’s online platform, OSN Play.

Sundance Channel HD will show independent and world cinema films, documentaries, shorts, series and other original programmes – including Rectify and political thriller Secret State.

“This exciting launch will significantly extend the reach of Sundance Channel into new territories throughout the Middle East and North Africa for the first time. We’re looking forward to working closely with OSN, the Premier Pay TV platform in the region, to deliver original dramatic series alongside the best independent cinema,” said AMC/Sundance Channel Global president Bruce Tuchman.

The deal takes OSN’s HD channel count to 37, with the firm now offering more than 135 channels, including 15 movie networks and 14 entertainment and series channels.
