Scripps Networks International has launched Food Network in Croatia and widened Travel Channel’s distribution in the country, after signing a deal with Vipnet.
Both networks will be carried by Vipnet – which runs two TV platform brands in Croatia, VipTV and B.net, and delivers content over cable, satellite, IPTV and OTT.
Scripps said that Food Network will broadcast in SD on Vipnet and that it plans to fully localise the channel next year. Travel Channel will also air in SD and is already fully localised having first launched in Croatia in 2006.
“As Scripps Networks International continues its distribution expansion by widening the reach for Travel Channel, it’s fantastic to see Food Network entering this key European territory,” said Jon Sichel, managing director, Scripps Networks, UK and EMEA.
