Amazon-owned video-on-demand service LoveFilm will premier four new animated series in the UK based around popular Marvel comic book characters.
The rights deal, agreed with Sony Pictures Television, will let customers of the subscription service stream the Marvel Anime series, which feature the characters Iron Man, Blade, Wolverine and the X-Men.
The anime series were produced by Marvel in collaboration with ‘Japanimation’ studio Madhouse and the deal marks the latest in a string of kids rights deals agreed by LoveFilm.
This year alone the service has struck deals with Warner Bros, Viacom, NBC Universal and Disney for content including the animated Batman and Superman series, SpongeBob SquarePants, Rastamouse and films like Wall-E and Lady and the Tramp.
