Jean Philip de Tender, the general manager of Flemish channel Eén, owned by public broadcaster VRT, has been elected chairman of the EBU’s TV committee for a two-year period.
De Tender was elected unopposed on the second day of the 2012 Eurovision Media Summit in Brussels, replacing Ruurd Bierman from the Netherlands’ NPO.
De Tender was previously one of three committee vice-chairmen. He has been replaced in that position by ZDF’s Frank-Dieter Freiling.
