The PlayStation 3 is the leading connected TV device on which Netflix programming is viewed, according to the OTT movie service.
Netflix said that the Sony games console was the leading connected TV device in the US and globally and at times had even surpassed the PC in hours of Netflix content consumed.
The PlayStation 3 is currently being used to test a new voice user interface for Netflix called Max. The device was also the first computer entertainment system to offer Netflix in 1080p video resolution with 5.1-channel Dolby Digital Plus surround sound and to offer post-play, second screen controls, on-device sign-up and alternate audio options including subtitles.
