Amazon-owned video streaming service Lovefilm has launched on the Nintendo Wii console in the UK.
The subscription video service is now available to eight million Wii users in the UK and will be expanded to Nintendo’s new Wii U platform soon.
Wii users can download the Lovefilm app from the Wii Shop Channel which can be used to search, browse and view a range of titles.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Lovefilm to offer Wii owners and soon Wii U owners on-demand film and TV content to enjoy. Lovefilm has a proven track record of success an innovation in film distribution and is a very welcome addition,” said Shelly Pearce, marketing and PR director for Nintendo UK.
