TVN co-founder’s son Walter succeeds father on ITI board

Piotr Walter is to join Polish broadcaster TVN Group’s supervisory board and the executive committee of holding company ITI Group, succeeding his father, who co-founded the company, and will leave the management board of TVN SA.

Walter, who served on the TV management board for 11 year and is the son of TVN co-founder Mariusz Walter, said: “Within our family we planned already a long time ago my succession to my father’s role at the executive committee of ITI Group. Now the time is coming for me to take over and I am looking forward to develop and execute ITI’s vision and strategy together with my colleagues from ITI Group. At the same time, looking back I am proud and pleased for what we have accomplished at TVN and I would like to thank everyone who supported our success. The new management board under the leadership of Markus Tellenbach combines unique talents, know-how and entrepreneurial spirit to drive TVN into a successful future.”

Separately, Edward Miszczak, director of programming has been appointed to TVN’s management board with responsibility for entertainment, while Adam Pieczynski, director of the news division including channel TVN24, was appointed to the board with responsibility for news programmes. Other board members include Piotr Tyborowicz, sales and advertising director, Piotr Korycki, chief financial officer, and Maciej Maciejowski, responsible for business development.
