Digital TV Labs, which provides independent receiver conformance products and services, has announced that it has become an official licensee of Dolby Laboratories.
The licence enables Digital TV Labs to offer CE manufacturers and middleware vendors a new streamlined service for Dolby pre-testing. In addition, manufacturers will have access to a dedicated team of technical experts that will host and aid in the debugging of devices, prior to Dolby submission.
The new service offering follows a history of collaboration projects between the two companies that have already worked on emerging technologies such as HbbTV, MPEG-DASH and TNT2.0.
Jeffrey Eid, vice-president of global support programmes for Dolby Laboratories, said, “We are delighted that Digital TV Labs is now able to offer Dolby testing as part of its test services offering. As Dolby Digital Plus is a mandated requirement in so many of the world’s broadcast and OTT standards, it is important that manufacturers can turn to experts like DTV Labs to help them resolve any issues prior to Dolby Approval.”
Digital TV Labs will be exhibiting at IBC on Stand 2.C30
