Trace Sports to make UK debut

Sports celebrity channel Trace Sports will launch in the UK on Sky’s pay TV platform later today.

The sports lifestyle channel will air exclusive content in the run up to the Olympic Games, including 100 Days To Go as well as lifestyle magazine show Number 5, which is presented by Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand. It will be available from 21:30 tonight in Sky’s Entertainment Extra package.

Rob Webster, director of Sky’s commercial group, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Trace Sports to our pay TV line-up. With a fresh and distinctive approach to sports broadcasting, Trace will offer Sky’s customers a new and interesting perspective on the lives of our sporting heroes. This will be a big summer of sports for Sky customers, in HD, 3D and on the go and Trace will only extend the choice and quality available to Sky customers.”

Trace Sports is available in 70 countries and operator Trace plans to reach over 30 million subscribers by the end of 2012.
