Modern Times Group-owned online pay TV service Viaplay has struck deals with two major Hollywood studios that will see over 500 movies available. The service has inked deals with The Walt Disney Company and Sony Pictures Television to make these films available to subscribers across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
Movies available include Sony’s The Karate Kid, Eat Pray Love, Easy Rider and Serpico and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Pretty Woman. Viaplay is available across the Nordic countries on PCs, smart phones, tablets, Viasat’s satellite set-top boxes and connected Samsung TVs.
Viaplay CEO Niclas Ekdahl said: “Disney and Sony Pictures are two of the largest movie studios in the world and our feature line-up will now include even more of their hugely successful movie titles.”
