Voddler has inked a Europe-wide deal with Nokia and will deliver its on-demand streaming service exclusively to the cell phone handset operator’s Lumia smart phones in the region.
Owners of the relevant smartphones will be able to access movies with the Voddler service and can download a Voddler Lumia app. It allows users to interact with friends, schedule joint movie nights as well as reviewing and commenting on films watched on via Voddler.
The deal was announced at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. It follows an earlier agreement between Voddler and Nokia, inked last January, that saw Nokia Growth Partners, the venture capital arm off the cell phone company, lead an US$8 million (€6 million) investment round in Voddler.
