Video advertising specialist Smartclip and smart TV app developer Accedo have signed an agreement that will see pre-roll video ads inserted into gaming app Funspot.
Smartclip will start monetising the Funspot games with in-gaming pre-rolls in European markets including the Nordics, UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Funspot offers various casual games including board, arcade, strategy and puzzle. It is available on TV sets and set-top boxes from companies including Samsung, Philips, LG, Panasonic and Roku.
In addition to a proprietary technology solution for the integration of video ads into Smart TV platforms, called UTAI 2.0, Smartclip will use its own department focusing on in-gaming video ads.
