Ofcom makes board appointments

UK communications regulator Ofcom has appointed Dame Patricia Hodgson as deputy chairman. She will start her three-year term on September 1 and replaces the outgoing Philip Graf.

Hodgson was chief executive of the ITC, the TV regulator before the creation of Ofcom. She is also a member of the BBC Trust, the organization that oversees the activities of UK public broadcaster the BBC.

Ofcom also announced another non-executive appointment. Dame Lynne Brindley, CEO of The British Library, will serve a three-year term on the board, also starting this September.
