Swisscom Broadcast names new CEO

Swisscom media services unit Swisscom Broadcast has named Dominik Müller as its new CEO.

Müller, who replaces retiring Jean-Paul de Weck, will take on his new role from November 15, he is currenly head of network IT and operations.

Müller has been part of Swisscom Broadcast for more than 10 years and has been a member of the management board for the last four.

De Weck, who will be entering retirement in early 2020, played a major role in shaping the transformation of Swisscom’s network operations following the deregulation of the European telecommunications market. As CEO of Swisscom Broadcast since 2008, he has overseen the company’s evolution from a traditional broadcast business to a full-spectrum solution provider of radio communication, video surveillance, event and media service, according to Swisscom.

Müller said, “I look forward to further developing Swisscom Broadcast’s proven strategy, driving forward innovation, opening up new market potential and steering Swisscom Broadcast toward a successful future alongside our dedicated employees”. Chairman of the Swisscom Broadcast Board of Directors, Mario Rossi, extended his own welcome. “I would like to wish Dominik every success in his new role and look forward to working with him.
