Romania’s ANCOM launches new DTT auction

AncomRomanian communications authority ANCOM has launched a new auction for two national, 31 regional and 19 local DTT multiplexes.

The Romanian Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) is selling multiplexes that were unawarded in the previous selection procedures.

Applicants can come from Romanian or foreign companies, but bidders for the national multiplexes must have an average minimum turnover of €2 million for the past three years – or the period since it was established – and not be part of another bidder’s group.

“As established by the strategy on the transition from analogue terrestrial television to digital terrestrial television approved by the government of Romania, the multiplexes shall be awarded by a competitive selection procedure,” said ANCOM.

Applications must be submitted by April 22, with those qualifying for the next stages of the selection procedure to be announced on April 24.
