Canal Plus and Mediapro strike football truce

Rival Spanish media groups Canal Plus and Mediapro have reached a truce in their long-running war over football rights by agreeing to share La Liga rights for the next three seasons.

Under the latest deal, Canal Plus will air matches on pay TV, and Mediapro’s Gol TV will air eight matches a week on digital-terrestrial TV, while La Sexta will air a free-to-air game each Monday.
