TikTok in limited test of ad-free premium offering

TikTokTikTok has begun testing an ad-free subscription tier in one English-speaking market outside the US, according to reports by Android Authority and Tech Crunch.

Android Authority reported that the user-generated content site was testing a price of US$4.99 for the service, while Tech Crunch said that there was no definite plan to launch it in the US as it was, as yet, a small-scale test.

According to Android Authority, the ad-free element of the tier only covers ads served by TikTok rather than influencer marketing.
