Portuguese Football Federation taps Pixellot for OTT video

PixellotThe Portuguese Football Federation (Federação Portuguesa de Futebol, FPF) has tapped Israel-based AI-automated sports video and analytics specialist Pixellot as its digital transformation partner to execute its long-term plan, Project 2030.

Pixellot is implementing its end-to-end solution across five leagues and the National Training Center in Lisbon. The FPF will use Pixellot’s technology, encompassing services such as a new over-the-top (OTT) application, analytics, AI-automated video production, tactical analysis, and a video exchange platform. The partnership will kick off with the deployment of Pixellot’s Production suite, which will cover over 1,000 matches per season.

As part of the new agreement, Pixellot will provide a range of video and data services for the 3rd Men’s league (Liga 3), the Men’s U23 league (Liga Revelação), the 1st Women’s league (Liga BPI), and both the 1stMen’s and 1st Women’s Futsal leagues (Liga Placard). Additionally, Pixellot’s technology will be installed and implemented at the national training centre in Lisbon.

The Pixellot-produced matches will be accompanied by live graphics and commentary. All content will be distributed through FPF’s OTT platform. Additionally, during screenings and broadcasts, a layer of data will be presented alongside the action to enhance the viewers’ understanding and enjoyment of the matches.

Pixellot will also introduce a coaching and exchange video and data platform for the five leagues. This platform will offer coaches access to over 2,000 data points per match, more than double the existing data available. Coaches will have the ability to thoroughly analyze games and make data-driven decisions to maximize their teams’ performance.
