Movistar Peru adds 11 new channels to TV offering

Telefonica-owned pay TV operator Movistar Peru is to expand its Movistar TV HD channel offering with an additional 11 new channels.

The new channels will see Movistar’s HD offering go up from 64 to 75 channels at no extra cost for Movistar TV customers and users who currently have access to the HD Block using CATV technology.

Las Estrellas Tlnovelas, Pasiones,  Nativa USMP TV Film& Arts, TLC , PXSports, CNN en Español, MTV 00’s, Telefe and Antena 3 will be available on the Peruvian provider from September 11.

In addition to the new HD channels, from August 23 there will be a thematic reorganisation of Movistar’s HD grid with the aim of offering a better experience for customers. These categories include sports, children, novels, series, movies, nature and culture, and lifestyle.

The company said, “This new update reaffirms Movistar’s commitment to offer a better experience and offer of entertainment content to its customers, meeting their needs and preferences.”

Movistar Peru announced in July it had signed a deal with with The Walt Disney Company Latin America to include the streaming services Disney+ and Star+ to its TV offering in the country at no extra cost, with access to Disney+ and Star+ original content across the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic brands.
