Chile’s Zapping launches AI-generated music channel

Chilean virtual pay TV operator Zapping has launched what it describes as the first channel in the country created entirely by AI.

Zapping has launched a new version of its LoFi music offering that it says is completely AI-based, and has changed the name of the channel to Lof.AI.

Music on the channel is accompanied by AI-generated images, with images being created on the fly.

According to Zapping, each image streamed of, for example, its Arturo Prat animated character, includes a prompt that can give rise to create ‘different universes, textures and representations’. Zapping has a bank of 200 different images that it says will grow over time.

Zapping is Chile’s first virtual MVPD, offering three plans – Full, Lite and Lite+. Lite and Lite+ offer 60 channels, with Lite+ being available on five devides simulotaneously. Viewrs have options to upgrade to include HBO Premium and TNT Sports. Both services provider seven-day catch up offerings.

Full offers 130 channels with an option to upgrade to include up to four additional premium packs.

The service is available on smart TVs from Samsung sony, Philips, LG and AOC roku, Apple TV, Android TV boxes, tablets, mobile and Chromecast.
