Molotov launches on PlayStation

French hybrid OTT service Molotov has launched on Sony’s PlayStation PS4 game consoles, with plans to launch on the PS5 later this year.

Molotov said that the launch of the service on the game consoles represented a real alternative to Blu-ray players, connected TVs and other connected screens as a way to view its offering.

PlayStation users will be able to view Molotov’s app-based offering of 200 channels and its free VOD offering Mango.

Molotov is already available on devices including Android and Linux-based boxes, iOS, the web, PC and Mac, but the launch on PlayStation increases its availability on the main screen.

In addition to access to channels, premium subscribers to Molotov can access functionality including cloud recording and catch-up TV as well as view content from the likes of OCS, Ciné+ and Starzplay.

Molotov’s pay options begin at €3.99.

Access to Molotov via the PS4 and, soon, the PS5, can be achieved by downloading the relevant application from the PlayStation Store.
