Portuguese service provider NOS has staked a claim to be the first operator in the country to provide self-installation of TV and broadband services.
NOS is offering its customers the option to self-install its UMA TV, Apple TV, Power WiFi Plume and Giga Router services.
Self-install is being sold as a convenient option that allows customers to start using services quickly without the need to schedule a technician’s visit.
Customers can request self-install kits through NOS stores or via a customer-service line.
Help is available through the NOS website, an online forum or through the regular customer service helpline.
NOS says that the service, which launched recently, is currently seeing 200 self-installations a day. It said that it believed this number would grow in the coming weeks.
