MEO teams up with SIC for gaming and esports app

Altice Europe-owned Portuguese service provider MEO has teamed up with Impresas-owned national commercial broadcaster SIC to launch an interactive app targeted at fans of gaming and esports.

The ADVNCE TV app offers a range of programming including documentaries and live esports.

The app is available to all MEO ADSL and MEO Fibra custoemrs equipped with a MEOBox, free of charge.

ADVNCE is a new brand launched by Impresa to target fans of esports and gaming, and has a presence on the SIC Radical and SIC Generalista channels as well as on the advance.sic.pt website and social networks.

“With this launch, Altice Portugal thus reinforces its commitment and positioning in an area of differentiation where it has been standing out as a pioneer. The MEO and Moche brands have been actively contributing to the development of esports in Portugal, whether by supporting the Moche brand at major events, such as Moche XL Esports or Moche XL Games World, or by the quality and reliability of the MEO fibre service, a reference with the gamer community. In line with the innovation strategy of Altice Portugal, the TV App ADVNCE will broaden and diversify the portfolio of MEO applications, which provide access to content and broadcasts, live on TV, of events of interest to the general or niche public, enabling new types of content to reach all customers,” said João Epifânio, chief sales officer/B2C of Altice Portugal.

“We want to continue to invest in content and surprise the market with new initiatives as well. ADVNCE’s success continues and the good results achieved now allow our content to have a non-linear presence at channel position 110 of MEO,”, said Cristina Vaz Tomé, CRO at Impresa.
