TV technology specialist Wiztivi has teamed up with set-top specialist Sagemcom to enable Vodafone and SFR to create a voice-controlled TV experience with high-end smart speakers.
According to Wiztivi, the collaboration provides a wraparound sound experience.
Wiztivi has integrated Amazon Alexa and Google Home and can also support proprietary voice control systems, according to the company. According to Wiztivi, the interactions are integrated and clearly notify the user, without interrupting the TV experience.
Depending on the type of request, the responses are either displayed on the television screen or the expected action is executed. The commands can span queries from “What’s the weather forecast?” and “Fast forward the video ten minutes” to “Who is the new President of the United States?”.
Wiztivi says its solution can enable device pairing, skills activation, command request and display, navigation on the TV menu using voice, pairing a Spotify account directly or from a mobile or managing interruption during a phone call.
The company says voice-control system is available to TV operators, media companies and OTT players.
