Media processing vendor Telestream has announced the acquisition of EcoDigital.
EcoDigital offers customers a CMS solution dubbed Diva, which manages the archiving and retrieval of assets via automation. The solution automates the process and provides transcoding to and from an on-premise or cloud storage repository.
Telestream said that there is “considerable overlap” between the businesses, and that its flagship Vantage Media Processing Platform “highlights the potential efficiencies created by the company integration.” The vendor also said there is strong customer overlap between the pair, with both companies having a primary client base of broadcasters and content owners.
The company added that there is a unified cloud strategy between the companies, with a cloud agnostic approach that recognises the need for a hybrid environment.
Dan Castles, CEO of Telestream, said: “At Telestream, we have always been about creating integrated solutions for our customers, to help them streamline their operations. The acquisition of EcoDigital provides more workflow solutions, especially Vantage-related, which facilitate tighter integration for the production, archive and restoration of raw and finished assets. Once the integration is completed, our customers can be even more efficient in the management of their production assets.”
Geoff Tognetti, CTO at EcoDigital, said: “This company integration is entirely positive news for EcoDigital and our customers since the technology synergies between our two product ranges are considerable. This integration has been well thought out – the end result will create greater efficiencies within customer operations and will be beneficial for their businesses.”
