Webit.Festival pushed back until October

Webit.Festival, the international technology and web festival and conference that had been due to take place in Valencia, Spain from June 17-20, has been pushed back tentatively to October 14-17 as a result of the Coronavirus crisis.

Webit Foundation chairman Plamen Russev, who announced the change in an email to participants, said that the organisers of the event had decided that “due to the Coronavirus continued outbreak and for the sake of all of 15,000 speakers, partners and attendees from 120-plus countries” they had taken the difficult decision to postpone the event.

Webit, which covers all aspects of digital technology and the web, includes a Digital Entertainment and Media Summit exploring how digital transformation and innovation impact the content, media and entertainment industries. Speakers announced for this stream include Movistar+ CEO Sergio Oslé Varona, Euronews CEO Michael Peters and United Group CEO Victorya Boklag among others.

Webit has meanwhile announced that it is launching a virtual thought leadership network, Webit Virtual. The daily live programme will kick off with Raja Rajamannar, the CMO of Mastercard, hosing the Brand Innovation Programme, the first programme to be streamed live from Webit’s studios in in Sofia and Cincinnati on April 9. The topic under discussion with How Brands Cope with the Coronavirus Pandemic Crisis.
