German cable provider Tele Columbus and pubcaster ZDF have announced a distribution agreement for the latter’s content.

As announced by the operator, the “comprehensive cooperation agreement” will see Tele Columbus use “all ZDF content” in its cable networks.

In addition, the agreement lays the groundwork for ZDF content to be integrated into the Tele Columbus Group’s digital platform.

Tele Columbus is used by more than 3 million German homes and offers more than 250 TV channels through its Pÿur brand.

This is the latest announcement from the operator since the appointment of Dr Daniel Ritz as its new CEO and member of the management board.

Formerly CEO of Pakistani operator PTCL between 2016-19, Ritz took up the top job at Tele Columbus on February 1. He has also served as a member of Swisscom’s board in a number of non-executive roles and from 2008-09 was CEO of Swisscom Central & Eastern Europe.
