Deltatre hits home run with hire of MLB’s Johnson

Sports and entertainment media tech vendor has hired James Johnson as its VP of Americas business development in the LIVE Division.

Johnson will be responsible for the continued growth of Deltatre’s services across the US, Canada and Latin America. Working primarily in Deltatre’s New York office, Johnson will report to Stefan Eric Wildemann.

The exec crosses over from the sports industry. Johnson joins from Major League Baseball (MLB) after almost 14 years with the organisation. In that time he held a range of key positions such as VP of broadcast services and production, and manager of broadcast engineering. He also previously worked for the Chicago Blackhawks as its video coordinator, and as the manager of video coaching for the Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox.

Johnson said: “I’m delighted to join Deltatre at an extremely exciting time for our industry. I’m looking forward to helping the company grow, using my experience to ensure our clients can provide pioneering and memorable viewing experiences to their users through Deltatre’s rich storytelling capabilities.”

Gilles Mas, president of Deltatre’s LIVE Division, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome James to Deltatre. We have an exciting year ahead of us, both in terms of the projects we are delivering and the new relationships we are making in the Americas. Bringing James on board – with his impressive breadth of experience – will only accelerate our plans.”
