Alteox and Post Luxembourg launch streaming headend platform

Alteox Media Consulting and its service provider client Post Luxembourg have launched a technology solution for IPTV and OTT operators, tvheadend.stream.

Alteox said that its all-in-one solution will bring over 500 TV channels via IP delivery to operators to stream directly to their customers’ devices via adaptive streaming or as an MPEG Transport Stream to their headend.

Streams will be available encrypted in multiple DRM formats.

The IPTV signal delivery headend is located in Luxembourg, and connected to a CDN and the Teralink network that guarantees quality fast delivery almost anywhere on the globe.

The signals are available in either MPEG TS or transcoded into adaptive streaming formats at the source, making it possible to work on multiple platforms, set-top boxes or mobile applications, according to Alteox, which is responsible for managing Post Luxembourg’s domestic IPTV service.

Alteox said that the service is available for OTT TV platforms and for IPTV providers who still want to operate their own head end but may need MPEG TS streams as a primary or a backup source.

Alteox Media consulting CEO, Sven Breckler, said: “Most TV and OTT operators currently have huge signal reception costs because they are still operating their own satellite headend stations. Together with our partner, Post Luxembourg, we offer you a unique solution that is both fast and cost effective.”
